Notice of changes to precincts
The Board of Park County Commissioners adopted changes for election district/precinct boundaries due to proposed consolidation.
Changes to precincts
Per Wyoming Statute 22-7-103, “Election districts and voting precincts shall coincide with the boundary of a municipality or ward therein.” Using statute as a guiding principle and seeking uniformity in all municipalities within the county there will now be 1 precinct per city ward.
Within the city of Cody, the following precincts will be combined:
2-2 will merge into 2-1 and follow the boundary of Ward 1
24-2 and 24-3 will merge into 24-1-1 and follow the boundary of Ward 2
25-2 and 25-3 will merge into 25-1 and follow the boundary of Ward 3
Within the city of Powell, the following precincts will be combined:
9-2 will merge into 9-1 and follow the boundary of Ward 1
9-4 will merge into 9-5 and follow the boundary of Ward 2
These precinct consolidations will not cause any alterations to any voter’s polling locations.
For the republican party there be 43 precinct committeeman and 43 precinct committeewoman seats up for election.
The democratic party will go from having 29 pair of precinct committeeman and committeewoman seats down to 22 pair of seats up for election.
Split consolidations:
The following split consolidations result from both the Cody and Powell Fire Protection Districts updating their bylaws to follow a statute change which allows for all voters within each Fire District to vote on all Subdistrict Director races. This change also helped to merge some of the precincts previously listed within the Cities of Cody and Powell.
In the Cody area the following splits will be combined:
- 3-2-3 will merge into 3-2-2
In the Powell area the following splits will be combined:
10-1-3 will merge into 10-1-1
10-2-2 and 10-2-1 will merge to become precinct 10-2 with no splits
21-1-3 will merge into 21-1-1
6-1-4 will merge into 6-1-1
